OUR POLICIES

BEYOND REPLACING 'POLITICAL CORRECTNESS' WITH JUDAEO-CHRISTIAN ETHICS, THE MORE GENERAL PREVAILING CULTURE OF STATE INTRUSION AND CONTROL...

FROM constant identity checks, speed cameras everywhere, CCTV everywhere, intrusive security on mall, street, supermarket and train station, intrusive supermarket Tannoys constantly issuing instructions, intrusive train station Tannoys constantly issuing instructions, intrusive roadside digital displays constantly issuing instructions, OTT parking restrictions, OTT Health and Safety regulations, OTT traffic calming measures, draconian bin collection and recycling regimes, inaccessible decison-makers at local council and DWP, and politicised school and college courses

TO no-choice politics, a one-voice media, an incomprehensible intrusive tax system, an incomprehensible intrusive benefit system, an unaffordable legal system, largely absent 'psycho-babble 'n' social work' policing, abuse-jockeys and yobbos running riot in classroom, street and pub

WHILST law-abiding citizens and their children have their every movement and thought tracked, traced and recorded through facial recognition, number plate recognition, police and social services databases, and personalised advertising on web, TV and phone

AND broadcasters sear their state-approved messages into every citizen's mind by overriding viewers' wills with semi-subliminal, 'bait and switch' advertising and relentless, propagandist fake news items on every conceivable political and cultural hot topic

...MUST ALSO BE ABOLISHED — Its Like Living In A Cult!

FREEDOM OF SPEECH

Any society where individuals and groups are not able to freely criticise others in a reasoned, moderate and fact-based way without fear of litigation is not a free society. It is incredible that in a few short years, and with barely a protest, the right to express an opinion has become so restricted in this country. To restore the fundamental right to simple freedom of speech to Britain it will be necessary to abolish all 'hate crime' legislation — which is drawn so widely that it can de deemed to cover almost any criticism of any minority group. However, there is a line to be drawn, and legislation should continue to draw that line where it has traditionally been drawn — at EXPLICIT incitements to VIOLENCE. This must remain an offence and prosecutions brought against any groups or individuals disseminating such views.

The blight, the injustice and the tyranny of so-called 'cancel culture' — for e.g., the de-platforming of those questioning the globalist politically-correct narrative on social media sites, health professionals losing their careers for speaking out against unproven GM jabs, and most recently, banks refusing bank accounts to public figures not deemed to be suitably 'on message' in their pronouncements MUST BE MADE A THING OF THE PAST. AND QUICKLY.

With freedom of expression restored, individuals and groups will once again be able to freely say what they think and make a public stand for the fundamental values they believe in, enabling everyone to fully and properly promote their own culture and identity in the public market-place of ideas — where others, as is the western tradition, will be entitled to criticise them, often in the harshest possible terms.

FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE

A fundamental aspect of the individual human personality is the conscience. It is therefore no business of the state to seek to inhibit this fundamental organ of personal expression and identity — a lesson that the far left have yet to learn. Laws in recent years have encroached upon this bastion of personal liberty and need to be repealed :

Medical Professionals' Fundamental Right To Conscientious Objection Restored

Many doctors, nurses and midwives from all faiths and of none profoundly disagree with abortion and do not wish to be involved in any way with performing or even arranging it, yet their traditional employment right to conscientiously object is increasingly being eroded by pressure from employers and guidance from professional medical bodies. The act of abortion is a very controversial issue and government should restore the right of medical professionals to take no part in it and to refuse to refer patients to abortion clinics or known pro-abortion colleagues. (Whilst abortion remains legal, patients would still be able to obtain the service, but would need to make their own enquiries without the assistance of anti-abortion medical practitioners).

Adoption Agencies', Registrars' and Relationship Counsellors' Fundamental Right To Conscientious Objection Restored

Recent extensions to legislation relating to equal access to goods and services have introduced a requirement for adoption agencies to accept homosexuals onto their books as suitable parents, and required registrars to perform civil partnership ceremonies and relationship councillors to provide sex advice to homosexuals. Homosexuality is a very controversial issue and very much a matter of conscience, yet these requirements effectively compel adoption agencies, registrars and councillors to condone homosexuality. We will therefore amend existing legislation to restore the right of registrars and councillors to conscientiously object in this area in the provision of their professional services.

Hoteliers' Rights To Conscientious Objection Restored

Christians and those of other faiths or none at all should not be banned from being hoteliers merely because they are uncomfortable accommodating homosexuals in double rooms. We will therefore bring forward legislation that will simply require that all hoteliers state their policy on their website and promotional materials allowing potential customers to self-select as appropriate.

FREEDOM OF RELIGION

An essential aspect of a free society is the right to pursue a religion of choice, including the right to change religions at any time without fear of intimidation. Atheism is a belief system too and so the right to freedom of religion also establishes the right of those of no recognised faith to go about their lives without being assailed on all sides by others declaring their beliefs at them all the time. We will therefore implement the following compromise measures that seek to allow freedom of religion to continue but without infringing the rights of those of other faiths or of no faith at all :

Religious Intimidation Inside Or Outside The Family Treated As Straightforward Intimidation

Within some religious minority groups there is an unhealthy tradition of inhibiting the individual's fundamental right to freely change religion. Where evidence of this is obtained, those perpetrating it will be prosecuted for either threatening behaviour or assault depending on the nature of the offence.

Public Religious Calls To Faith Restricted

In today's Britain, most people have no recognised faith as such and many do not appreciate any approach by those seeking to convert them to their life-view. The public sphere should therefore not be punctuated by groups of any religion constantly calling the public at large to a faith in which they do not believe. Freedom to practise and preach ? — absolutely. Freedom to intrude and annoy ? — absolutely not.

STREET PREACHING : Christian and Non-Christian groups will still be permitted to regularly promulgate their message in the local high street, but such groups will not be allowed to do so more than once per month — as most of the time people must be allowed to venture down the town centre without having to avoid certain central areas known to be almost permanently 'staked-out' by local religious groups.

BELL-RINGING : Whilst the occasional distant chiming of a church bell is both a welcome sound and an established tradition within this country, some churches regularly engage in protracted 2-hour sessions of bell-ringing practise, which for those living anywhere near the church in question is a gross intrusion into their homes and privacy. We will therefore restrict church bell-ringing to a maximum of one 30 minute session per week.

MOSQUE CALLS TO PRAYER : The call to prayer in human-voice broadcast by loudspeakers to an entire neighbourhood is far too intrusive and alien to settled, religiously-reserved British culture. Such a practise can therefore only serve to deepen exisiting sectarian divisions within society, so will be prohibited.

In addition, our policy of seeking to re-establish a positive, healthy public culture in Britain, one that celebrates only those things that have long-proven themselves to make for the common good, and that encourage, establish and celebrate freedom and democracy, not oppose or undermine these things, means that we will not permit any mosque to broadcast any audible form of public call to prayer.

It is hoped that these restrictions will enable those of no faith or of a different faith to once again be able to make their homes in areas close to church or mosque, to avoid the divisive, my-patch-your-patch religious ghettoisation of Britain.

A RIGHT TO PERSONAL PRIVACY AND PERSONAL SPACE

We will require ALL organisations - both public and private - having direct contact with the general public, to show respect for people's personal space and their right to privacy. Law-abiding citizens have a fundamental right to go about their business without being constantly required to identify themselves to overbearing officialdom, endure the self-serving intrusions of private corporations or justify themselves to aggressive charity fundraisers. We will therefore implement the following measures designed to put this commitment into effect :

DEMOCRACY: Councils Required To Respect the Privacy of People Accessing Their Services

THE ECONOMY: Business Required To Respect Their Customers Privacy

LEGAL SYSTEM: CABs and Law Centres Required To Respect the Privacy of People Accessing Their Services

HEALTH: Waiting Room Chairs Arranged For Privacy

MEDIA: Broadcasters - Intrusive Adverts, Programme-Announcements and Channel Logos Banned

MEDIA: Journalists required To Respect People's Privacy

POLICING: Privacy As Standard When Making Reports Or Enquiries At Police Stations

SPORT, LEISURE and AMENITIES: All Public Buildings Designed For Privacy

TRANSPORT: Bus Redesign — Compulsory Redesign of Seating For Maximised Privacy and Space

TRANSPORT: Redesign Of Rolling Stock To Maximise Personal Privacy and Space and Provide Modern Odour-Free Toilets

THE RIGHT TO MAKE OUR OWN CHOICES AND BE TREATED AS AN ADULT

Recent years have seen nannying, intrusive government — in cahoots with their cosy network of nannying, intrusive big business buddies — unleash a great slew of nannying, intrusive policies, all apparently designed to inculcate the following beliefs into law-abiding, adult British citizens :

  • that citizens are answerable to government, government is NOT answerable to citizens
  • that citizens NEED government to tell them what to do — about pretty much everything
  • that citizens have no right to say 'NO' to either government or government-sanctioned intrusions and impositions, if those intrusions and impositions are 'well-intentioned'
  • that citizens have no right to set their own course in life, either for themselves or for their own children — they are to look to government and government-approved 'experts' for their fundamental beliefs about themselves, others and all of life.

We will make a start in returning government to its legitimate non-intrusive place by making the following changes :

HEALTH: Abusive OTT Cigarette Packet Warnings Abolished

HEALTH: Intrusive Questioning Abolished

HEALTH: No More Patronising 'Life-Hijack' Campaigns — including a ban on supermarkets and other national chain store retailers using their dominant position in the marketplace to harangue their (economically) captive customers will contentious, politically-motivated, infantilising Tannoy declarations about for e.g. charitable giving, making 'sensible' shopping choices, eating a low-fat diet or even adopting 'the way vegan'. Most recently, these intrusive, patronising appeals have even descended to the level of requiring customers to actively refuse making a donation at check-out! Unbelievable.

HEALTH: Non-Politicised Sex and HIV Public Health Information

HEALTH: Unscientific Restrictions on Food Supplements and Herbal Medicines Lifted

HEALTH: Restrictions on Paracetamol Purchases Abolished

HEALTH: The Need For Adults To Explicitly Obtain Permission To Purchase Age-Restricted Products Abolished

HEALTH: Explicit Written Consent of Donors Required For Organ Donation To Proceed

SPORT, LEISURE and AMENITIES: Bonfires and Barbecues Allowed On The Beach

SPORT, LEISURE and AMENITIES: The Public's Right To Feed Birds In Public Places Protected

SPORT, LEISURE and AMENITIES: Increased Access To Lakes and Waterways

SPORT, LEISURE and AMENITIES: All Deed Covenants Preventing The Keeping of Boats Or Caravans On Driveways Declared Null and Void

A CULTURE OF EQUALITY, FAIRNESS AND SELF-RELIANCE

The re-establishing of truly equal civic rights for the majority culture has the potential to quickly reduce cultural tensions since much of the discontent is caused not directly by racial or cultural issues at all but by the unfair preferential treatment that minorities have always received under the law — starting from unequal helmet-wearing laws decades ago, through to differential sentencing for 'racially aggravated' offences and positive discrimination in the workplace today. Such polices genuinely make 2nd-class citizens of the majority and such an approach is as perverse as it is unjust, and could hardly have been designed to be more guaranteed to cause inter-cultural tension. What were the architects of such policies thinking ?

The following changes will therefore be introduced :

Equality In Motorcycle Helmet Laws

Current motorcycle helmet laws require compulsory wearing of a crash helmet for both rider and pillion passenger but allow complete exemption for those wearing a turban as part of their religion — and this, in spite of the fact that there a significant number of motorcyclists of different religious persuasions or of none at all, who on occasion, or even all the time, would dearly love to experience the full wind-in-the-face experience of riding without a helmet. This law has therefore always blatantly discriminated against the majority and needs to be changed so that restrictions APPLY EQUALLY TO EVERYONE.

If helmet-wearing were made optional, even with a minimum age requirement or level of experience attached, a significant rise in serious injury and death is still near-certain to follow. We will therefore make helmet-wearing compulsory for ALL riders (effectively prohibiting turban wearers from riding motorcycles).

Although a detriment to the very small number of turban-wearing motorcyclists, this measure will remove perhaps the first piece of anti-majority legislation to enter common consciousness and that has sadly set the approach of government ever since. Correspondingly, its removal is a step towards building the fair and united society that in the long-run benefits everyone most of all.

Abolition of Preferential Minority Rights and 'Hate Crime' Legislation

Whilst such legislation is not entirely misplaced, attempting to legislate for non-hateful and non-prejudicial, non-disapproving attitudes from citizens is inevitably tyrannical and intrusive and amounts to government trying to play religion with voters' consciences. Such an approach also inevitably sets minority groups up as special 'hard luck cases' deserving and needing favourable treatment. Much of such legislation is also totally incompatible with free speech.

We will therefore abolish :

- all hate crime legislation

- differential sentencing for identical offences, if a racist motive is subjectively identified

- all positive discrimination and quota schemes in the workplace — employers will once again be free to employ and fire who they want to without risk of lawsuit

- most government bodies targeting purely race or culture-related issues

- all race and ethnicity questionnaires — that divisively encourage everyone to define themselves by their mere skin colour or cultural origins, rather than (in the words of Martin Luther King) 'the content of their character'. Incredibly, such questionnaires — by focusing on race and highlighting racial differences — are (on any definition) also inherently racist!

In spite of these abolitions, members of racial or cultural minorities need not fear that they would somehow be left defenceless, for in common with all other citizens, their fundamental right to live free from persecution will be rigorously defended through proposals targeting anti-social behaviour. Policy in this area will be kept under constant review however, and if significant disadvantage ensues then changes will be made.

Equality in Workplace Dress-Code Rights

Although under our proposals outlined above employers will be free to set workplace dress-codes for employees, the government should require employers to grant identical dress-code rights to all employees — so that if one employee is allowed to work with non-standard hair-length (such as dreadlocks) or headwear (such as a turban) then all other employees should be entitled to that same right.

Begging and Street Selling Banned

With a welfare state that is generous to a fault and that covers all reasonable housing and living expenses, there is no need for anyone to beg in modern-day Britain. The vast majority find begging offensive no matter how politely it is done and often it is rude and even aggressive. Begging also only delays the time when those engaging in it must face their problems in a less anti-social way. Begging should therefore be made an arrestable offence — no-one has the right to confront others in the street in such a manner — law-abiding citizens have a right to go about their business without feeling and being put upon in this way. 'Big Issue' selling (begging with a magazine) should therefore be abolished and all street sellers required to obtain a licence from the local council.

Sleeping Rough Banned

The reality of mental illness and addictions and the lack of truly appropriate places to stay for people tempted to sleep rough mean that city-dwellers across the country are confronted daily with the sight of people sleeping in shop doorways and under bridges and made to endure the associated rubbish and stench of urine and sight of human faeces — often within yards of expensive residential or business areas. This is both unacceptable and unnecessary.

We will therefore work with charities supporting those sleeping rough to ensure that both emergency overnight accommodation and longer-term accommodation of the appropriate kind is made available for the relatively small number of people affected. Once appropriate accommodation measures are in place in a particular city, everyone found sleeping rough will be required to use the facilities provided.

Travellers' Right To Hi-Jack Public Spaces and Litter Abolished

Traveller and Gypsy groups have often caused significant disruption to local communities by occupying land without permission (both private land and public land — such as a local beauty spot, playing fields, park and ride car parks or even the seafront of seaside towns!). When moving on, these groups invariably leave mountains of assorted rubbish which local council tax payers then have to pay to have removed.

This party respects the wish and right of anyone wishing to live a roaming lifestyle and will make strenuous attempts to make this possible. However, no-one is entitled to live in a country above the law, and everyone must respect the property rights of others.

A NATIONWIDE NETWORK OF FULLY-EQUIPPED TRAVELLERS' SITES

Therefore, in consultation with gypsy/traveller representatives, a national network of large, purpose-built permanent traveller/gypsy sites will be established. The land to be owned and maintained by the local council and a reasonable charge made for occupation of a pitch and use of the facilities — which will include water, sewerage, electricity, internet access and digital TV. Anyone damaging or littering the sites will be tracked-down and prosecuted. Every effort will be made to manage these sites in such a way that travellers can come and go with their vehicles in an impersonal and quiet way, without feeling the need to 'get approved' by 'officialdom'.

In addition, and in common with everyone else, travellers will be permitted to use the new network of fully equipped roadside laybys for overnight stays (for which a charge will be payable).

Once sufficient sites are up and running in an area, any illegal occupation of land will mean immediate forcible removal of all vehicles, possessions and persons to the nearest local official site at the travellers' expense. The enforcement action to be carried out by the police (and not bailiffs as at present) who will then have full powers to arrest, detain and impound as they see fit (unlike bailiffs).

In the event that (even with significant additional provision across the country), sites are oversubscribed, then a system of rationing-by-random-draw will be put into effect — as the intention is not to actively encourage a roaming lifestyle, but rather to make reasonable provision for it.

All contracts for work on the initial construction and ongoing maintenance of all sites will be offered to gypsy/traveller contractors.

Excessive or Unused Disability Rights Reduced

Similar to other minority groups, lobbyists on behalf of the disabled (surely the most deserving of all minorities) have managed to guilt and bully successive governments into acceding to their demands for all manner of additional rights. After many years of this process, the balance appears to have been tipped too far in the direction of the disabled and against the legitimate needs and aspirations of businesses, taxpayers and the able-bodied. In particular, the following issues should be addressed :

DISABLED PARKING BAYS — These are an excellent and essential idea, but most of them seem to go almost entirely unused most of the time, to the detriment of mothers with babies and other drivers. The provision of such bays should be reviewed with the expectation that a significant reduction in number will be possible.

COMPULSORY ADAPTATIONS TO BUSINESS PREMISES — Requiring small businesses or taxpayers to pay the significant costs associated with the adaptation of minor business premises for the occasional use of a handful of disabled people is unreasonable. Being unfair to businesses and taxpayers in this way does not help the lot of the disabled and the government should not support such demands.

BRIDGES AND ENTRANCES DESIGN — The country is now replete with massively expensive and ugly bridges and building entrances designed to cater for wheelchair access and disability needs. Whilst such an approach is reasonable in order to ensure full accessibility to council buildings and essential transport and civic amenities, to apply an identical approach to rarely-used facilities seems excessive. We will therefore work with engineers and disability groups to see whether a less intrusive alternative can be found for some sites.

DISABLED EVENTS HELD SEPARATELY TO NON-DISABLED EVENTS — The skill and achievement of disabled athletes is remarkable and can stand on its own to create events worthy and capable of public support. The joy and celebration of able-bodied sport, however, is that of the aspirational, all-out pushing-back-the-boundaries-of-humanity kind, and such physical achievement must never be undermined or diminished by being set at equality with the overcoming of a disability. Overcoming disability and sporting prowess are fundamentally different achievements and we will require the major sporting bodies to respect and reflect that reality in the organisation of major public events.

CHARITY ADVERTISING, FUNDRAISING AND CANVASSING ACTIVITIES RESTRICTED

Similarly, due to the trend in recent years for larger charities to adopt a pushy, intrusive approach to promoting their work and raising funds, restrictions have now become necessary.

Aggressive (Tabard-Wearing) Charity Canvassers — are now an ever-present nuisance in most town centres, ever-seeking to engage people in unwelcome, one-sided, get-money conversation. Time was, when the very notion of the 'charity hard-sell' was unheard of, and a contradiction in terms. Even today, for most people, giving money to a charity (not matter how worthy the cause) should be a freely arrived-at decision of goodwill, not a succumbing to intrusive questioning and the hard-sell — least of all whilst happily walking down the street. We will therefore introduce a ban on charities actively approaching people in this way, restricting them to passive publicity displays, so that they can only engage people in conversation who have freely chosen to investigate displayed materials.

Similarly, All Fundraising At Supermarket Entrances Will Be Banned — people have quite enough stress to deal with these days, without every weekly shop also becoming another miserable guilt trip courtesy of a give-or-be-damned charity presence in the foyer.

Suicide-Charity Advertising Prohibited On Public Footpaths, Train Stations and At Beauty Spots — Sadly, even the most worthy of big charities now feel at liberty to constantly force consciousness of their work into people's faces even whilst going for a de-stressing walk in some isolated location — with suicide-charity marketeers deciding to proactively 'reach-out to potential clients' with a depressing, killjoy 'you can't cope', 'don't do it', 'don't kill yourself' posterboard every few hundred yards (spoiling both the beauty spot and people's walks in the process). Unbelievable.

NATIONAL SYMBOLS

The wholesale replacement of almost all UK symbolism with EU symbolism on passports, driving licenses, car license plates, building projects and town 'twining' signs has been part of the you-are-to-think-of-yourselves-as-European-not-British brainwashing programme. We will ensure the swift, systematic removal of all anti-democratic, anti-nation-state symbolism across the country as follows :

EU Driving Licences, Passports and License Plates Returned To Their Previous UK Format

The deeply unpopular conversion of these much-loved key identity documents into offensive items of blatant EU propaganda will be reversed immediately. 'Town Twinning' and 'Fair Trade' Sign BlightIt seems that even identification with our own little town or city is deemed too big a threat to world peace to be allowed to go unchallenged, as the town sign now comes complete with matching foreign-sounding-place-name appendage. More recently, council signs have begun declaring their little patch a 'Fair Trade'-supporting area. Whether one thinks fair trade is a good thing or not, the town sign is no place for hectoring the local populace with your pet projects, it belongs to everybody not little vociferous activist groups — whether inside or outside the local council. All these silly and offensive signs blighting practically every city and town in the country will have their propagandist appendages removed at the earliest opportunity.

The National Flag Flown On All Government Buildings

The Union Jack should be flown on all council-chamber buildings across the country, and a 1/3-sized Council of Europe and 1/3-sized United Nations flag flown immediately beneath it on the same pole. Country first, Europe second, the rest of the world third.

Some Currency Images Replaced

Although improved in recent years, our current bank notes and coins still have all manner of odd images and inscriptions on the back of them that mean next to nothing to practically everyone except the out-of-touch little clique that decided to impose their preppy preferences on the rest of the country. We will replace the most irrelevant images with ones that are more meaningful to ordinary people.

MUSEUMS, MONUMENTS and ARCHITECTURE

Modern Architectural Styles

In recent years, trendy new building materials and trendy new design ideas have become available and architects and developers keen to make their mark on the landscape have imposed all manner of odd and ugly-looking designs on the general public. We will draw up planning guidelines that place greater emphasis on the need for most large buildings and all civic buildings to conform to a more aesthetically-pleasing, traditional architectural style.

Listed Buildings —Reduced In Number and Restrictions Reduced

There are currently over 370,000 buildings with a Grade I or Grade II listing and subject to all the associated restrictions. This figure seems too high and we will review listings policy so that only buildings truly significant by reason of their architectural style, historical or cultural significance are preserved for future generations.

Listed buildings rules are necessary to preserve the flavour of former building styles, but need to be made considerably more flexible to allow present-day owners more financially realistic maintenance and repair options.

Public Art and Monuments

In recent years, countless town centres have been lumbered with ugly modern monuments that might conform to trendy abstract tastes but that are meaningless or even offensive to most local residents. In an attempt to engage with youth culture, or perhaps to deter graffiti vandals, councils even sanction graffiti-style spray-paint murals in some of the most visible town centre locations! To many, such an 'avant-garde' approach simply encourages and rewards bad behaviour, and blights prime locations with ugly, graffiti ! Incredible. This shouldn't be, art in public places and local monuments have a genuine role to play in building a pleasant and visually and conceptually stimulating environment, but a policy of politicised 'extreme art' designed to 'challenge' and 'make statements' wastes this opportunity and wastes public money too. We will encourage local councils to only commission and construct works of art likely to appeal to more mainstream public tastes.

Museums

Many of the large modern museums of London and other large cities have shown the way to combining a wealth of fascinating and significant historical artefacts with innovative new interactive displays. Conversely many smaller museums struggle to attract visitors and could benefit from a similarly modern approach.

Where possible and exhibits are not sited within a building which itself is part of the history, such as a castle, we will encourage smaller museums and exhibitions to close and merge on a museum mega site for each county. Such museums would aim to combine all items of historical interest — military, transport, farm machinery etc — at a single location (that is still enjoyable in the pouring rain !) , with a child-friendly approach and top quality food and drink.

Libraries

Similar to the proposals for museums, many smaller libraries could close and their stocks merged on a large town centre-based site. As well as offering books, internet access should be to the fore—with terminals available that (unlike many libraries today) have privacy screens. Quiet study areas must also always be available—again with privacy screens (again, unlike many libraries today) to avoid distraction.

Most Restrictions On Photography In and Around Public Buildings Lifted

Whilst some restrictions will need to remain to protect the privacy of people in court rooms and particularly valuable and delicate works of art, we will abolish all the unnecessary killjoy restrictions in publicly-accessible, state-owned or state-controlled buildings, for e.g. in parliament, Trafalgar Square and the Royal Parks — not least because the public are the very people who have paid for all these state assets with their money or by their sacrifices, and are the very people all these national assets are supposed to serve!

OTHER

Publicly-Visible Naturist Beaches Banned

Whilst fully supporting the rights of naturists to continue with their private meetings — including non-visible meetings on private beaches — there are several official and unofficial naturist beaches that are clearly visible to any member of the general public who happens to be passing by. This can cause significant offence to people of all ages, so publicly-visible naturist beaches will be banned.

Post Boxes Given A Common National Style and Able To Accept A4 Letters Without Folding

All post boxes will be required to conform to the familiar red and black traditional design but enlarged so as to be able to accept A4 letters without folding. Due to cost considerations this may need to be a long-term rolling programme of improvement.

New Year's Honours List Reformed

Whilst the awarding of public honours is still very much a relevant and positive tradition, the awarding of honours with obscure or even ridiculous-sounding titles is surely an unwelcome anachronism. We will therefore abolish all obscure titles (whilst allowing existing title holders to retain theirs), with service to the nation being recognised simply by the award of the title of either Sir or Lady, and OBE (or a suitable non-Empire equivalent). Rather than receiving the award and then immediately returning to obscurity, regular TV documentaries will highlight and celebrate the life and work of all those awarded honours.

The English Language — Phonetic Spelling and Grammar Simplified

The spelling of English words today should not be rooted in long-dead foreign languages, nor should rules of grammar be so convoluted as to be incomprehensible to the majority and — in areas such as hyphenation — in significant part the expression of the mere personal preference of a self-appointed literary clique.

We will review the possibility of a change to the English language so that ALL words are spelt phonetically and grammar simplified — as this would make things a lot easier for less able youngsters at school and for those learning English as a 2nd language (possibly helping English to become the unofficial 'world language').

A Proper Break At Christmas, New Year and Easter

— with most firms required to operate a complete shut-down for 2 weeks over Christmas/New Year and 1 week over Easter.

New 'Democracy Day' Public Holidays Introduced

Incredibly, we currently have no day of positive national remembrance or celebration, only a valid but negative war remembrance day (the St Georges Day celebrated by some is completely meaningless to the vast majority). We can surely do better than that.

We will therefore introduce a new 2-day positive time of celebration — with the both the day of voting and the following day of counting, for both general elections and the annual referendum day for opposition parties, declared Democracy Day public holidays (which as non-work days will also make it easier for people to vote and stay up late to see the count).

New 'Super Hero' Day Established For School Children

— where normal classes are suspended for the day and instead pupils come to school as their favourite super-hero, and then go out into the community in groups to do good deeds — e.g. picking-up litter, returning trolleys to the local supermarket, taking dogs for a walk etc. In the evening, local and national TV programming could publicise the most interesting projects and best costumes etc.

Subject to popular public demand, Super Hero Day will be encouraged to grow in cultural significance to perhaps one day replace Halloween — that, for many people, sends young children all the wrong messages.

Unclaimed Premium Bond Prizes

All unclaimed prizes — of which there are quite a few — should be 'put back into the pot' for distribution to future winners.
