However, our web design provider does store several very basic cookie-like data files within the Local Storage area within the browser. These data files are all connected with the simple checking of page/website access statistics and do not specifically identify users in anyway. Also, they are NOT cookies, so are NOT sent to the server at any stage - they remain within the browser.

WEBHOST WEBSITE STATISTICS

When a browser requests a page, an image or a resource from a website, the browser automatically sends several pieces of basic anonymous information to the server in the request header - for e.g. the visitor's operating system, browser name, IP address, referring page, etc. On the server, the webhost makes use of this information to serve the requested page, image or resource back to the browser, and software on the server can analyse and aggregate this information to produce basic website statistics.
