... BECAUSE SOME THINGS IN LIFE ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN POLITICS.
MANY COMMENTATORS — OF ALL RELIGIOUS PERSUASIONS AND OF NONE — NOW OPENLY ADMIT THAT MODERN-DAY WESTERN CULTURE IS 'BROKEN'. FOR MANY PEOPLE OF FAITH, THE ROOT CAUSE OF MUCH OF THAT BROKENNESS IS ALIENATION FROM LIFE'S TRUE SPIRITUAL DIMENSION.

Beyond Judaeo-Christian Values To Christian Belief — For The Benefit Of Individuals, Families, Local Communities and The Whole Of Society
"...where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."
— 2 Corinthians 3 v 17
Ever since the reformation, the church has done much to benefit this nation and many of our most valued institutions — including parliament itself — can trace their roots to a Christian heritage. Even today, in spite of becoming an increasingly atheistic society, most British people still implicitly acknowledge the trueness-to-life of the core Judaeo-Christian values and even the existence of a monotheistic God of some sort. And although less than in previous decades, in the recent 2021 census, 46% of the general population were even happy to explicitly describe themselves as 'Christian'. After decades of the nation being awash with aggressive atheistic propaganda, this fact is pretty remarkable. For many believers, this is an indication – and a basis for hope and prayer – that God has not given up on Britain just yet...
In this modern age there is a constant pressure to be cynical about notions of truth, morality and spirituality, but the shape of the human heart doesn’t change on our say-so, nor the moral and spiritual demands of life just evaporate because we find them inconvenient or because we repeatedly declare them ever-so naff. God is not mocked, by any of us — in our character, we all reap what we sow, both individually and as a society...
... at the level of the individual — the explicit rejection of belief in a God to whom we must all one day give account, undermines our willingness to hear from conscience, and inevitably precedes a personal moral decline.
"And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting..."
— Romans 1 v 28
... so too at the level of society — it is surely no coincidence that Britain's widespread rejection of Judaeo-Christian ethics in the 1960s, lead — within a generation — to an era of rapid cultural decay and loss of basic civic freedoms, and that today confronts us all with the very real prospect of permanent personal and political serfdom in a cultic, dystopian future.
"And in their hearts they turned back to Egypt, saying to Aaron, 'Make us gods to go before us...'
And they made a calf in those days, offered sacrifices to the idol, and rejoiced in the work of their own hands. Then God turned and gave them up to worship the host of heaven..."
— Acts 7 v 39-42
"Righteousness exalts a nation,
But sin is a reproach to any people."
— Proverbs 14 v 34
So rather than just sit idly-by with moral degradation, the hollowness of rootless living and personal spiritual brokenness all around (quite needlessly allowing destructive, artificial belief systems to attempt to fill the vacuum with their tainted offerings), as a party seeking to offer the British people real solutions to life's inevitable woes, we feel we have a duty to draw attention to the spiritual solution that has long shown itself — across generations, centuries, nations and continents — to have far and away the most genuine claim to 'best fit' for the God-shaped hole in the human heart and soul.
By the fruit it has borne in countless millions of lives, real Christianity has proven itself to have the genuine, real-world, supernatural power from beyond ourselves, from the pure holy 'above', to truly answer that impossible call to perfection that life — at some point — issues to most every human heart.
Real Christianity is therefore able to tackle spiritual need directly, at the very deepest level of all — that of the spirit — a realm that exists beneath the level of even our own soul (our truest self). At this level, as the human soul encounters the Word spoken by its creator in the very deepest place within, deep personal transformation becomes possible. A transformation that does NOT displace ANY aspect of our TRUE self — for it is a true self that God Himself created ! A true self, the very apex of His creation, that He comes, By His Spirit, to PRESERVE — FOR ALL ETERNITY — NOT to destroy.
In this way, real Christianity can give hope to the hopeless and offer healing and help when absolutely nothing else can — transforming lives for the better, for the benefit of individuals, families, local communities and the whole of society.
IN ADDITION TO OUR POLICIES WITHIN THE MEDIA, EDUCATION AND CULTURE SECTIONS PROMOTING A RETURN TO JUDAEO-CHRISTIAN ETHICS, WE THEREFORE PROPOSE THE FOLLOWING MODERATE MEASURES TO SUPPORT AND STRENGTHEN THE LEGITIMATE, BENEFICIAL CLAIM OF TRUE BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY UPON THIS TRADITIONALLY CHRISTIAN LAND.
OUR POLICIES
THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND
The Church of England Disestablished
The experience of lands ruled by atheistic governments and systems has for the most part been far from a happy one (for e.g. Communism and Nazism), so this party's proposal for separation of church and state stems from a desire to liberate religion from politics, NOT to liberate politics from the influence of religion (that is, true religion).
However, whilst the political sphere can benefit from a religious element, the political and religious spheres of life are very different, and this fact should be recognised in the institutional and funding arrangements. Yet at present the very political figure of Prime Minister is involved in the appointment of key clergy and therefore has a hand in establishing the direction of the church. If we are really a country where freedom of religion is a reality, then the church should be free to appoint its own leaders, establish its own institutional framework and set its own direction. The separateness of the political and religious aspects of life will therefore be recognised by the complete disestablishment of the Church of England.
It is to be hoped that these proposed arrangements will also help return the presently quasi politico-religious institution of the established Church of England to its truly biblical Christian roots.
MEDIA
New Dedicated BBC Christian Channels Established
New BBC Christian channels to be made available on SKY, Freeview and online, with 15% of the total BBC budget allocated for the production of quality Christian programming across the full range of programme genres.
Besides explicit 'confessional' Christian content, the BBC Christian channels will also have a remit to broadcast, commission and make quality 'Nicey Nice' films (similar to some films on the True Movies and Movies 24 channels) and Nicey-Nice content in general — content which although not explicitly Christian, will uphold and celebrate Judaeo-Christian values and a positive, be-your-best approach to life. This will allow the general public to, once again, benefit from a broad, Christian-consistent 'take' on all of life and not just on explicitly spiritual matters.
All content on Christian channels will also have all affirming depictions of homosexuality and of pre-marital sex censored by default. This will grant Christian viewers and all those believing in traditional Judaeo-Christian values the simple, basic right — long-enjoyed by everybody else — to access and enjoy quality content in their own home that unapologetically upholds and celebrates their beliefs.

Censorship — A Ban On Blasphemous Expletives
In spite of the Christian leanings of The Fair Britannia Party, we are NOT a party of censorship or control — as evidenced by our most robust commitment to the legislative and cultural outcomes of the democratic process and an essentially laissez-faire approach in the areas of media, justice, education and culture. Higher standards? Yes. Hand-wringing, hyper-sensitive killjoys? No.
However, the tendency for many programmes and movies to include several characters casually blasphemously taking the Lord's Name in vain umpteen times is where we draw the line. Most movies of this ilk, do so in a totally gratuitous manner — to the point that often the very first word out of the main character's mouth is a blatant anti-Christian blasphemy. It is hard to avoid the conclusion that those including such extreme content at the very outset of the movie — when fundamental character and plot perspectives are being set — do so in a deliberate attempt to actively 'initiate' viewers and listeners into ANTI-Christian sentiment.
Any number of other expletives would easily suffice and could be substituted with zero impact on the character, the scene, the plot or the general tone of the movie. This is therefore what we will require. We will extend the same standard and ban to the 'blasphemous' use of the explicit name of the 'deities' of the other major religions.
Judaeo-Christian Elements At State Occasions and In School Assemblies Continued
In spite of a declining belief in specific aspects of Christianity today, when questioned in the 2021 Census, 46% of the population were happy to describe their religious beliefs as 'Christian' — the inclusion of a Judeo-Christian element in state occasions and school assemblies is therefore democratically-legitimate as well as being a necessary, reality-affirming, uplifting cultural benefit to society. Indeed, key Judaeo-Christian themes of a monotheistic omnipotent God, good, evil, conscience, individual responsibility, self-control, justice, punishment, forgiveness and grace run through the very fabric of western civilisation and indeed of life — and are implicitly accepted as such by the majority of British people. These values, together with some of the emotional truths of psychology that accord with conscience, and the importance of endeavouring to be tolerant towards those around us, would surely make an admirable basis for non-religion-specific contemplation at state occasions and in school assemblies.
SPORT, LEISURE and AMENITIES
Local Christian Churches To Be Allowed Free Use Of A Major Local Stadium One Sunday Each Month
— with morning, afternoon and evening services, so people will be able to attend whatever their other commitments
— the general public able to just wander in and come and go unobtrusively throughout the service as they please
— and a door-to-door 'bussing' service provided to ensure adults and children alike can easily attend, regardless of the cost or availability of public transport.
CONTENT OF SERVICES
However, the appeal for salvation and any teaching given will affirm the psychological importance of the unconditional acceptance of our soul identity – clearly distinguishing between our fallen spiritual identity (from birth) that Christ came to put to death, and our soul identity (our core personhood, our true self) that Christ came to save for all eternity. In addition, teaching in this area will NOT support the unbiblical and dehumanising 'lordship salvation' or 'discipleship' doctrines, or the unbiblical, truly appalling, morally-indefensible false doctrine (based on the pagan — NOT Christian — belief in the unconditional immortality of the human soul) of eternal torment in hell for unbelievers.
However, teaching in this area will NOT support the unbiblical and unreal 'miracles for all', 'healing for all' or 'prosperity for all' teachings — the most extraordinary timing of events, remarkable healings, and occasionally financial blessings, DO occur in the lives of believers and unbelievers in answer to believing prayer by Christians in the Name of Jesus Christ, but according to both the bible and real-world experience, these amazing things are NOT promised to everyone, and CANNOT just be 'claimed' on demand!
The hope is that this format — which allows attendees to restrict their exposure to spiritual teaching to a level that they are comfortable with — will be one that will allow anyone remotely interested in exploring the unique and powerful claims of true Christianity, to do so simultaneously 'in person' and 'from a safe distance'.
PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
Christmas Eve, Good Friday and Easter Sunday Marked By Church Services Held In Major Local Stadiums
In recognition of these world-changing events in human history, special services to be held in local stadiums across the country on Christmas Eve, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The services to be open to all and with people able to easily come and go throughout the services at any time.
Spring Bank Holiday Returned To Its Former Date Of Whitsun and Renamed Pentecost Bank Holiday
The oddly-named Spring Bank Holiday (for spring has long since sprung by late May!) used to be the first Monday after the day of Pentecost, only being moved to the last Monday in May by the Banking and Financial Dealings Act of 1971 (of all things).
Pentecost is a truly massive day in the Christian calendar (second only to Christmas and Easter), being the day that the Holy Spirit came to earth in power, transforming the original apostles and the early church. In keeping with our policy of restoring the public culture of Britain to its Christian roots we will therefore restore Spring Bank Holiday to its original date of Whitsun (Whit Monday) and rename it Pentecost Bank Holiday in order to make its celebration of a fundamental Christian event clearer.
A PROMISE TO ALL THOSE OF NON-CHRISTIAN FAITHS, TO ATHEISTS AND TO AGNOSTICS
Although this party believes in the contribution that TRUE Christianity is able to make to individuals, communities and to society at large, this party also believes in Freedom and Democracy. ALL Fair Britannia Party policies encouraging the spread of Christianity will therefore ALWAYS remain entirely optional and easily avoidable by those not wishing to be exposed to them.
The education system too, whilst encouraging support for Judaeo-Christian ethics (which are broadly accepted by all the major religions and by most atheists anyway), will continue the western tradition of an evidence-based, non-religious (but not an anti-religious) approach in the classroom.
